Macbeth and Reading Times

The three witches have major roles in Macbeth. They are the ones who tell Macbeth his prophecy. In my opinion, they are the ones who doom Macbeth. If he hadn’t met them, there is a huge possibility that his life would not have changed so dramatically. The witches enjoy being evil. One of the witches even says, “Fair is foul and foul is fair.”
“Fair is foul and foul is fair” is an important quote because it gives the reader the idea that the witches are wicked. When they say this, they are explaining that sometimes life isn’t fair. Bad things often happen. They witches actually probably enjoy being the ones who cause such foul things to happen. They are evil, dramatic creatures, and this quote shows that.

  1. I did the same quote and I really like the way you looked at it because I looked at it in a similar way.

  2. Nice post, Jill. I agree with you in the fact that the witches do enjoy watching all these foul things happen. I think it is important for the reader to know so early on that the witches are evil.
